Hack for Healthcare was a one-day coding event, hosted by Kal Academy, in partnership with Microsoft's LEAP Program, for anyone with a passion in software engineering, UI/UX, data science, and healthcare.
We had over 100 participants, mentors, judges and speakers and we raised nearly $600 through donation-based ticket sales for Kal Academy Expansion Fund. THANK YOU!Â

We're a non-profit coding academy, dedicated to making high-quality tech education accessible to everyone, especially women and minorities. That's why our classes are only $25/session. The average cost for each student to get fully trained for an engineering role is $350-500.Â
If you've met our students or alumni (most of whom are at Microsoft), you'll see that we don't sacrifice quality for affordability. Kal Academy was started by tech industry veterans, with 20 years of experience in software development, data science, and engineering management.
In the past six months, we've tripled the number of our active students. Want to help us bring tech education to even more people? Explore ways to partner on kalacademy.org.
